MUNK & LOUA is a textile design studio based in Copenhagen—their practice centers around a responsible approach to producing textiles.
Their fabrics are crafted from recycled textiles and designed to create one-of-kind pieces for interior and fashion markets.
MUNK & LOUA's fabrics are made with a minimum of 40 per cent of textile waste, reducing the waste created by the industry today.
The fabrics are made to order, minimizing overproduction. In addition, they design custom-made fabrics tailored to their client's needs.
All fabrics are made through a felting process, binding them together with textile waste and virgin material. The felting process can recycle different types of fibres - and constructions, increasing the recycling potential of waste textiles of low quality or mixed fibres.
Due to the felting process, all MUNK & LOUA's fabrics are easy to repair using a simple felting kit, which increases longevity. In addition, they can recycle all their fabrics into new designs.
